____________________________________________________ 'Training for Life' pack was devised & written by Gwen Bailey, Behaviourist, Author & Founder of the Puppy School.

The pack is intended for puppies between 3 - 5 months old,
although the training principles are suitable for dogs of all ages.

When most owners start out with a puppy, they hope they will be able to look after it all its life. Sadly, this isn't always possible, and they do sometimes need to be found new homes.  Dogs have a much better chance of finding a good home easily if they already have good manners.

Lack of early training is a common startpoint for a dog's behaviour getting out of hand & could mean the difference between it staying at home, or going into a rescue.

Although training for everyday life is easiest to teach when a puppy, it is also essential to teach adult dogs & rescue dogs, although it may take a little longer.

Audio Tape:
Side A: Explanation of: reward-based training and why it works so well, needs and motivations of your pet, summary of things owners need to do to achieve a well balanced, well behaved adult dog, reasons for socialising and habituating your pet to life experiences early.
Side B: Noises and sounds a puppy needs to be unafraid of, including thunder and fireworks.

Video Tape:
Step-by-step training using motivational techniques, including good manners (e.g. not to jump up when greeting), come when called, walk well on lead, wait, sit, stand and down, as well as how to raise a friendly, well balanced dog that can cope with everyday experiences in the modern world.

Explanation Booklet:
Explanation of how to use the pack effectively, detailed explanation of training using rewards, toilet training, learning to be alone, chewing, adolescence, setting boundaries and saying ‘no, solving behaviour problems, tricks, games and having fun.
